Man Suspected In Girlfriend's Death Planned To Kill More, Macomb County Sheriff Says

LENOX TOWNSHIP (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say a 36-year-old Detroit-area man arrested in connection with his girlfriend's fatal shooting had planned the deaths of at least two other people.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham also told reporters Wednesday that Jeremiah Boshell intended to lose his life, possibly in a shootout with police.

The body of 38-year-old Lisa Ann Fabbri — the mother of the suspect's 16-year-old son — was found Tuesday in her car parked behind a home in Lenox Township, northeast of Detroit.

The suspect later showed up with an assault rifle at a Lapeer auto shop, seeking two employees who were away at the time.

He left the shop, jumped into his Ford pickup and shot at an unmarked police vehicle that was following him at high speeds on eastbound I-96, according to authorities, who say he also shot at a pedestrian in Lapeer County. No one was struck.

He eventually crashed near Wilder Road and was arrested.

Wickerham said Boshell's vehicle was full of firearms — including some that were registered to the victim. One was described as an AR-15, but investigators believe he killed Fabbri with someone else's 9 mm handgun.

"He's a dangerous guy, we believe," Wickersham said. "And our goal is to prove that he was involved in our homicide in Lenox."

Boshell was transferred from the Macomb County jail to the Lapeer County jail will he's awaiting arraignment formal charges related to the police chase. He has a lengthy criminal history including previous convictions for escape from jail, fleeing police, felonious assault and gun charges.

An investigation into Fabbri's death is ongoing.
