Police Seek Witnesses To Fatal Motorcycle Crash On Northwestern Highway

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Police in Farmington Hills are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed a fatal motorcycle accident on Northwestern Highway.

The multi-vehicle crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday on southbound Northwestern Highway, just north of 13 Mile Road.

According to police, a 55-year-old Detroit man on a motorcycle was struck by a Dodge Ram truck as both vehicles were traveling southbound.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the Dodge Ram, a 25-year-old Dearborn man, fled the scene after the collision, but later turned himself and his vehicle in to the Dearborn Police Department.

The driver remains in custody at the Farmington Hills Police Department, pending additional investigation and submission of a warrant request to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.

Based on evidence left at the scene, investigators are attempting to identify another blue Ford vehicle believed to be involved in this incident.

Alcohol is not believed to a factor in this crash, according to police.
