Boy, 16, Being Charged As Adult In Woman's Slaying

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A 16-year-old western Michigan boy is being charged as an adult in the death of an 18-year-old woman.

Prosecutors on Tuesday authorized an open murder charge against the teen.

He is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Grand Rapids District Court. The Associated Press is not naming him due to his age.

A person walking a dog found McKenna Hilton's body Aug. 18 in a wooded area near Emerald Lake in Grand Rapids Township.

Police believe Hilton, of Grand Rapids, may have been killed at another location and her body taken to the wooded area.
