Report: Tigers Sending Someone To Scout Tim Tebow

If you were to ask Detroit Lions fans right now if they would take Tim Tebow as Matthew Stafford's backup I would bet that most would say "yes."

There is a chance that Tebow could be coming to Detroit -- but it wouldn't be to play football.

George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press is reporting the Tigers are sending someone to scout Tebow at his workout for MLB teams.

Scott Pleis, amateur scouting director, said #tigers will send someone to scout Tim Tebow at workout for MLB teams on Aug. 30.

Tebow, 29, who is set to work out for around 20 MLB teams on August 20 announced he would be giving baseball a try since his NFL career has been less than stellar.

There have been a few athletes who have been able to play both professional baseball and football in the past. The chance that Tebow winds up being the next Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders or even Brian Jordan are slim to none in my opinion.

Tebow hasn't played competitive baseball since he was in high school. As a junior he hit .494 with four home runs and 30 RBI and was named all-state.

Are you happy the Tigers are going to scout Tim Tebow?
