The Snack Attack: Snapple's TEAcision 2016 -- Red Fruit Tea VS Blue Fruit Tea [TASTE TEST]

As far as the election goes, this summer has been one of the craziest ever. And it seems like everyone is getting in on the action -- even Snapple.

The drink maker is reminding Americans to take a break to celebrate our great land during this patriotic summer, by participating in TEAcision 2016. Snapple is pitting two new seasonal flavors against each other to see which flavor is America's favorite.

The contenders are:  Red Fruit Tea -- flavored with raspberry, pomegranate and cherry, and Blue Fruit Tea -- flavored with blueberry and blackberry.

Both flavors will be available for a limited time, starting in September, throughout the election season.

Meet the Candidates: Red Fruit Tea

Before I get started, I have to ask: Do you remember Wendy the Snapple Lady? I literally can't think of Snapple without seeing her face pop into my head. I wonder what she's up to.

Anyhow, Snapple sent The Snack Attack a TEAcision flavor kit with samples of the two teas, so I enlisted four other testers to help decide which would be the champion of our newsroom. First up was the Red Fruit Tea.

Even though this drink is flavored with three different fruits, the "tea taste" is still very discernible -- it's made with green and black teas. That being said, you definitely can tell you're drinking a fruit tea. The red fruits add a light, sweet flavor that is the perfect refreshment for a hot summer day. You can't particularly tell one fruit flavor apart from the other, but the resulting combination is delicious.

What was under the cap? TEAcision "Real Fact" #1203: Jimmy Carter was the first U.S. President to be born in a hospital.

Meet the Candidates: Blue Fruit Tea
Blueberry & Blackberry flavored

After tasting the crisp Red Fruit Tea, I thought "No way is this flavor going to compete," but I was wrong. This drink is packed full with berry flavors and is much stronger than the Red Fruit Tea. Although it is made with green and black teas, the tea-flavor itself isn't very noticeable -- probably because the berry flavor is so strong. Maybe it was just in my mind, but I feel like I could really tell the difference between the berry flavors.  At first I noticed the taste of blackberry but by the time I finished my sip, all I could taste was blueberry.

What was under the cap? TEAcision "Real Fact" #1199: Lyndon Johnson's family all had the initials LBJ.

The Results: Who Wins TEAcision 2016?

Blue Fruit Tea wins by a landslide! Out of our five designated taste testers, only one person voted for Red Fruit Tea. But really, there are no losers here. As one tester put it, "I'd drink the s*** out of either one of these."
