Police: Vandals Cause $5,000 Damage To New Bloomfield Township Home

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Police are searching for one or more vandals who caused more than $5,000 worth of damage to a new home that was under construction in Bloomfield Township.

A contractor working on the home in the 4500 block of Stony River, near 14 Mile and Franklin roads, told police he showed up on Wednesday to find the house in a disarray.

Police say holes were punched in the drywall, windows were broken, liquids had been dumped on unfinished wood floors, spray foam was released on the floors, and a fire extinguisher was sprayed in a bedroom.

It's the third time vandalism has been reported at the home in the past two months, according to police.

Neighbors told investigators that they've seen kids walking in the construction site in the past -- but police say there were no witnesses to this particular event, so it's unclear who's to blame.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 248-433-7755.
