25-Year-Old Man Arrested, Charged After Fleeing Naked From Murder Scene

DETROIT (WWJ) - A man who police say ran naked from the scene of a double shooting over Labor Day weekend has been charged with murder in the case.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said 25-year-old Desmon Armon Jackson of Detroit will be arraigned Wednesday afternoon on one count of first degree murder and one count of assault with intent to murder, as well as a gun charge, in connection with a shooting Sunday night.

According to police, Jackson fatally shot 26-year-old Martell Harris of Detroit following an argument, just after 11 p.m., in front of a home in the 15000-block of Coyle Street.

Detroit police called to the scene found Harris lying on the front lawn with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene

Police say Jackson also shot a second man multiple times on the front lawn before going inside the home where he removed all of his clothes. He then allegedly fled nude on foot but was found and arrested a short time later.

The surviving victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His name was not released.

This was one of multiple shootings over holiday weekend in Detroit during which Police Chief James Craig said 32 people shot — four of them fatally. The violence included two triple shootings, Craig said, one involving a robbery and the other a domestic incident and four double shootings.
