Joe Fauria Reminds Us That He Twerked Before Antonio Brown

On Monday Night Football Antonio Brown offended an official with his twerking touchdown celebration, but Lions fans will know he wasn’t the first to do the dance.

Former Lions tight end Joe Fauria reposted a video of his dance from December, 2014 vs the Buccaneers. But why didn’t Fauria get a flag? Maybe because it was two pumps less. Maybe because he wasn’t holding the ball. Maybe a more high profile Monday night game factored in. Both were being watched by the officials although Fauria was being observed more from the side.

Fauria clearly set the trend for the touchdown twerk and Twitter reacted mostly with misty-eyed nostalgia for the days Fauria danced for the Lions.

Some were dumbfounded at the inconsistent enforcement of the “sexually suggestive” celebration rule.

And yes, the “sexually suggestive” celebration rule is a thing.

The similarity to the absurd “Key and Peele” McCringleberry’s Excessive Celebration sketch is so dead on — it’s scary.
