Redford Man Believed To Be Behind 34 Crimes Of Sexual Assault, Other; Police Believe More Victims Out There

DEARBORN (WWJ) – A Redford Township man accused of committing dozens of crimes spanning six years, appeared in court for an arraignment Wednesday.

Ikeie Smith, 32, is being held in connection with several crimes including sexual assault, home invasion and armed robbery in cities including Redford, Garden City and Dearborn Heights.

“It’s also alleged that you did, on December 9, 2013, that you did break and enter or did enter without permission a dwelling located on Cornell street in Dearborn Heights,” said Judge Mark Plawecki. “And while entering or exiting did commit criminal sexual conduct.”

Smith was picked up after Livonia Police were able to identify him from a surveillance video. He is also accused of assault and rape — investigators believe that he is the perpetrator 34 other cases.

Smith is being held without bond. Authorities believe that there are other victims who have yet to come forward.
