10-Year-Old Girl Killed In Overnight Crash On I-75

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) – Authorities are investigating an overnight crash on I-75 that took the life of a child.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s office says a 10-year-old girl was killed in a crash that happened early Saturday morning on southbound I-75 just north of I-696 in Royal Oak.

The girl was transported to hospital, but died shortly thereafter. Police haven’t yet said if the child was buckled up or not.

The freeway was closed for several hours as police investigated the scene, but has since reopened.

  1. The car she was a passenger in was rear ended by a drunk driver that tried to flee the scene. Her older sister is in ICU, her Brother in law and a niece and nephew were also hurt.
