3 People, Including 9-Year-Old Boy, Missing After Fishing Trip In Lake Superior

CHASSELL, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities in the Upper Peninsula are searching for three people, including a 9-year-old boy, who didn't return after an afternoon of fishing.

The boy was accompanied by his father and another man in Houghton County. State police say they were headed to Lake Superior in a 16-foot boat Saturday.

Family members called police when they didn't return by evening.

The search involves state police, the U.S. Coast Guard and local police agencies.
