Girl Drowns In Lake Michigan After Falling Off Paddle Board

MEARS, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a 10-year-old girl has drowned after falling off a paddle board in Lake Michigan.

The Grand Rapids Press reports the Lansing girl's body had been recovered Monday afternoon near Charles Mears State Park, about a half-hour after she fell off the board. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.

Officials say she wasn't wearing a life-jacket.
