Paul Finebaum Calls 'Whining And Crying' Michigan Fans 'Pathetic

The Michigan fan base is unique. The old saying is Michigan never loses, they just run out of time.

Paul Finebaum, who does a radio show for ESPN, is in my opinion essentially a mouth piece for SEC football.

A Michigan fan called into his show and asked why Jim Harbaugh doesn't get the respect that Alabama's head coach Nick Saban gets since he walked into a winning program.

That's not the case at all. The Mike Shula coached Crimson Tide had records of 4-9 (2003), 6-6 (2004), 10-2 (2005) and 6-6 (2006). Saban took over in 2007.

Finebaum had enough.

"If you're going to walk into my bar, you better know what you're talking about, Nick Saban did not walk into a winning program. He walked into a program where they just fired the coach who had gone 6-6. He had lost to his main rival (Auburn) four straight times. So why don't you come back next week and actually know what you're talking about and maybe you won't be whining and crying, OK? Go Big Blue."

He then continued to say, "Is there a more pathetic fan base in America than the University of Michigan? What a whiny and sniveling bunch."

This isn't the first time that Finebaum has had an issue with Michigan. In July, he had an interesting take on Jim Harbaugh, according to 247sports.com in regards to his rap video. "If you go back to the first days of American Idol, they would go to Wyoming and have tryouts. Jim Harbaugh would not have gotten out of Cheyenne, Wyoming," Finebaum said. "This is a bad look for Jim. There's a saying when someone has jumped the shark … this is the shark for Jim Harbaugh. He's finally done it and he can't take it back."

I think you can make a case that every fan base in the country can be considered a "whiny and sniveling bunch," but is Michigan more so than others?
