5-Year-Old Detroit Boy Dies After Being Run Over In Driveway
DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities say a 5-year-old child died after being run over by his father in southwest Detroit.
The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 7300 block of Parkwood, in a neighborhood just south of Michigan Avenue and Central Avenue.
According to police, the 27-year-old father was backing out of the driveway when he ran over the child. The father told police he had put his child in the car, but he must have gotten out somehow.
The boy was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The father was questioned by police, but is not in custody.
An investigation is ongoing.
