Dearborn Heights Mom Opts Not To Speak As Funeral Services Set For 4 Kids Slain By Husband

DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) - She was supposed to make her first public statement, but a Dearborn Heights mother of four kids — allegedly murdered by her husband — has decided not to speak for now.

Faith Harris Green is still recovering after being cut in the face and shot in the foot by 49-year-old Gregory Vincente Green.

Police say she was also forced to watch as her children, 4-year-old Kaleigh Green, 5-year-old Koi Green, 19-year-old Chadney Allen and 17-year-old Kara Allen, were murdered in their own home.

A private visitation for the four kids was being held Wednesday at O. H. Pye Funeral Home on Plymouth Road.

Spokesman Lloyd Banks talked with WWJ's Vickie Thomas and other reporters at a news conference that was supposed to include the grieving mom.

"Faith Green is not up to addressing the media; she's not up to coming out today," Banks said. "She had a really bad night, an even worse morning, so she will not be here."

"I think she wanted to make sure everyone understood and knew about her children, and that was the main message," he added. "She didn't want them to be forgotten in all of this tragedy that has taken place."

Funeral services will be held Friday at the Detroit First Church of The Nazarene, 21260 Haggerty Road in Farmington Hills. The family hour is 9 a.m. and the funeral services will be at 10 a.m.

Gregory Green, an ex-convict, appeared last Thursday in 20th District Court where he was arraigned on four counts of first-degree murder, and one count each of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, torture, unlawful imprisonment, felonious assault, felon in possession, and felony firearm in connection with the killings.

He was remanded to jail without bond where he awaits a probable cause hearing set for Oct. 5.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, it's alleged that Gregory  Green called 911 around 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 21 and admitted to killing his entire family. When police arrived at the family's home in the 4400 block of Hipp, near  Pelham and Annapolis roads, he was waiting on the porch and was immediately arrested.

After the arrest, police went into the home and discovered the suspect's 39-year-old wife in the basement, bound with duct tape and zip ties, stabbed and shot. She was taken to a local hospital.

Investigators say both teens were shot multiple times, execution style, and were pronounced dead at the scene. The two younger siblings, Gregory Green's biological children, were allegedly poisoned by carbon monoxide.

According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, the accused served 16 years in prison for second-degree murder after pleading no contest in 1991 to killing his pregnant wife. He was released from prison in 2008 on his fifth request for parole.

The Greens married in 2010, according to the Associated Press, and Faith Green recently filed for divorce in August
