Suspect Still On The Loose After Police Surround House Fearing Barricaded Situation

DETROIT (WWJ) – Police are searching for a man who they thought barricaded himself inside a home along Fullerton Street on the Detroit’s west-side.

According to authorities, a DEA agent Tuesday afternoon attempted to stop a suspect on a warrant for delivery causing death. The DEA telling WWJ that the suspect almost struck the agent with their car and the DEA fired at the suspect — and it was believed that the suspect ran into a home.

A heavy arsenal came in response to the alleged barricaded situation.

Commander Alvin Barren with Detroit Police tells WWJ that police are not sure if the suspect was ever in the house.

“It’s unknown if he was ever in there, again, the surveillance crew stated they saw him go inside but it’s a possibility that he never was there – there might have been other occupants from the location that were inside,” said Barren.

The people inside the house were interviewed and it’s not known what, if any, information came from those interviews.

Police are still searching for the suspect who they consider dangerous.

Authorities have not released his name.
