1 Dead, 4 Hospitalized After Home Goes Up In Flames On Detroit's West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are trying to figure out what caused a house fire on Detroit's east side that killed one person and left another four hospitalized.

The fire broke out early Thursday morning at a home on Rohns Street near Mack Avenue.

Fire officials say a total of five people were injured in the fire, two of whom were pulled out of the burning home and one of whom died. All were transported to local hospitals for treatment; their conditions are unknown.

It's possible that the fire may have been sparked by a bolt of lightening, although the cause remains under investigation.
