Michigan Vs. Wisconsin Broadcast Is Presented By Walmart And Let The Shade Begin

@GeorgeJFox

The ABC broadcast of the Michigan Vs. Wisconsin game this Saturday is one of two games presented by Walmart and it's kind of a softball pitch for Wolverine haters' mockery.

The term Walmart Wolverine has come to define fans of U-M athletics who didn't attend the university. The insult is used primarily by rival fans from Ohio State and Michigan State, but it doesn't end there.

I'm surprised to hear it's used by people who went to the school as well, but usually reserved for knuckleheads and drunks that flock to Ann Arbor on game day. "The people walking the campus are not the ones in the Big House on Saturdays," they said.

Every team has fair weather fans. Unless you're a completely elitist jerk -- they should be embraced. At least until you get a belligerent blast of beer breath from a maize and blue bro. At that point it would be fair to ask for their student number and hit 'em with a Walmart Wolverine.

Listen to the Michigan football radio broadcast on WWJ Newsradio 950 AM with Jim Brandstatter on play-by-play, Dan Dierdorf on color commentary and sideline reporting by Doug Karsch.
