Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed RB Mike James to the team’s practice squad and released RB George Winn from the practice squad.

James (5-10, 223) enters his fourth NFL season following a three-year career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he spent the majority of the 2015 season as a member of the team’s practice squad.

Originally drafted by the Buccaneers in the sixth round (189th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Miami (Fla.), James’ career totals include 79 carries for 332 yards, as well as 11 receptions for 38 yards in 19 career games (three starts).
