Detroit Police Seek Tips To ID Dequindre Cut Groper [PHOTOS/VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are looking for help to identify a suspect in an alleged sexual assault on a woman on the Dequindre Cut in Detroit.

According to investigators, the 44-year-old victim was jogging along the paved path, near Gratiot Ave., when an unknown man ran up behind her, circled her and grabbed her buttocks. It happened at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26.

Police say the woman was armed with a knife and "swung it at her attacker to get him to stop."

The victim was not injured and the suspect ran away. It's unclear if the alleged attacker was hurt.

The suspect is described as a black male, around 25 to 30 years old; 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 150 lbs. He was clean-shaven with a dark complexion and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and blue and yellow gym shoes.

Police released photos and video on Tuesday, hoping someone in the public might be able to help them to solve this case.
