Red Wings Announce Official Viewing Party Schedule For 2016-17 Season

DETROIT –The Detroit Red Wings are proud to announce another year of Red Wings Official Viewing Parties for the 2016-17 season. Red Wings fans will have the opportunity to connect and cheer on the team with their peers, meet Red Wings Alumni and win great prizes during the season at a variety of locations throughout Michigan.

The fun begins on Thursday, Oct. 13 with the first of four Red Wings Official Viewing Parties at Applebee’s locations throughout Metro Detroit. Four-time Stanley Cup champion Darren McCarty will be in attendance at the Applebee’s location in Taylor (21350 Ecorse Rd.) signing autographs and taking pictures as the Red Wings take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Season Opener. While cheering on the Red Wings, fans will also have the opportunity to play Hockeytown Trivia, enjoy great food and drink specials and enter for the chance to win autographed memorabilia and tickets to upcoming Red Wings games at Joe Louis Arena.

The Red Wings and MotorCity Casino Hotel (2901 Grand River Ave., Detroit) will once again stage a number of Official Viewing Parties at Sound Board, the state-of-the-art live performance venue inside MotorCity Casino Hotel, for Red Wings fans ages 21 and older. Six viewing parties will be held at Sound Board, including the third Official Viewing Party on Wednesday, Nov. 2 against the Philadelphia Flyers with former Red Wings defenseman Larry Murphy in attendance. Fans are invited to enjoy 15 big screen TVs, complimentary Little Caesars pizza and soft drinks, a variety of interactive games, photo opportunities with the Red Wings Zamboni, Hockeytown trivia, $1 draft beers and chances to win autographed merchandise or tickets to future Red Wings games.

Viewing parties at Sound Board feature free admission; however, tickets are limited and will be made available through Ticketmaster approximately two weeks before each event date. There will be a two-ticket limit per transaction. All guests traveling from Canada will be asked to claim their tickets at Will Call at Sound Board on the day of the event.

Only Sound Board viewing parties require tickets, all other Official Red Wings Viewing Parties are open to the public with no ticket required.

Five additional viewing parties will be hosted at Hard Rock Café in Detroit (45 Monroe Ave.), including the second Official Viewing Party on Wednesday, Oct. 19 against the New York Rangers with former Red Wings goaltender Manny Legace. Official Viewing Parties will also be held at On the Rocks Bar in Madison Heights (Nov. 18 vs. Washington) and Ciccarelli’s Sports Bar in Shelby Township (Dec. 3 vs. Pittsburgh).

A full schedule of Red Wings Official Viewing Parties is listed below. Additional alumni appearances will be announced closer to each date and are subject to change.
