State Police Seek Suspect Who Ran Over Woman In Motel Parking Lot

ROYAL OAK TWP. (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are looking for a woman who they say deliberately ran over another woman with her car.

It happened shortly after p.m. Thursday, in the parking lot of the Royal Inn motel in the 10900-block of W. 8 Mile in Royal Oak Township.

Police say two women were arguing when the victim got involved in the conflict. The victim began walking away, according to police, but the suspect jumped into her car and ran over the victim before fleeing the scene.

MSP Lt. Mike Shaw said both the suspect and the victim are homeless. The suspect, he said, usually lives in her car in the Royal Inn parking lot.

"She is known to us," Shaw told WWJ's Chrystal Knight. "We've had contacts with her before."

The victim, who is expected to be OK, was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for a broken wrist.

The suspect remained at large on Friday.

No charges has yet been filed and no names have been released as an investigation continues.
