SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. (AP) – Authorities say a 14-year-old boy in southwestern Michigan is facing a charge after a threat was posted on social media.

Staff at Schoolcraft Community Schools on Saturday notified police about an Instagram post that mentioned a threat of a school shooting.

Police investigated and arrested the Schoolcraft boy Sunday for making a terrorist threat, which is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He was taken to a juvenile home.

According to police, no specific school system was identified in the threat.
