Mother And Child Stalked, Robbed At Gunpoint Outside Apartments

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Oakland County authorities are searching for suspects after a mom with a little girl was robbed at gunpoint Monday evening.

According to sheriff's officials, the 41-year-old Pontiac woman, was shopping at a convenience store with her 6-year-old daughter, at around 7 p.m., when she noticed she was being followed by an unknown man.

The pair left the store, on W. Kennett Rd., and began walking home  — but the man, in a white sedan with two other men, followed them home.

As they walked through the parking lot of their apartment complex on Stegman Lane, the man put a handgun to the back of the woman's head and demanded her wallet, deputies say.

The woman complied, and the robber got into the backseat of the same white sedan which then pulled away, headed westbound on W. Kennett toward Oakland Ave.

No one was injured.

Deputies searched the area but didn't find the gunman, described as a black male, around 30 years old with a heavy build. The other two people in the car were also described as black males.

According to sheriff's officials, there is no good surveillance video of the robbery. The suspects remained at large on Tuesday.

An investigation is ongoing.
