91-Year-Old Man Goes Missing On Detroit’s West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police are asking the public for help locating a 91-year-old man who went missing on the city’s west side.

Police say Joseph Olds was last seen around 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at his home in the 1600 block of Cortland, in a neighborhood along the Lodge Freeway near the Davison Freeway. He was discovered missing by his son at 7 p.m. the same day, according to police.

Relatives say Olds is in good physical condition but suffers from memory loss, and takes medication for health related concerns.

Olds is described as a black male with a light brown complexion, 5’9 tall and 190 lbs. with salt and pepper hair and brown eyes. He also has a mole on his left cheek and is missing his upper and lower teeth. He was last seen wearing prescription glasses, a black baseball hat with an orange trim, gray jacket, green plaid shirt, beige pants and black shoes.

Anyone who has seen Olds or knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact police at 313-596-1000 or 131-596-1040.
