DEARBORN (WWJ) – Police are searching for suspects in the murder of a Canton man who was fatally shot over the weekend while driving in Dearborn.
Police were called to the scene last Sunday, at around 10 p.m., in the area of Madison and Bennett near Outer Drive on reports of a car that crashed into several parked vehicles.
Investigators discovered that the driver — later identified as 33-year-old Raymond Mshahwar — had been shot before the crash. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It’s unclear of this was a random shooting and police have not disclosed a possible motive.
They’re looking for tips.
“This is a tragic situation and our condolences go out the family of the victim,” said Chief Ronald Haddad in a statement. “The Dearborn Police Department will use all available resources to apprehend the person(s) involved in this crime. We are urging the public to come forward with information regarding this crime.”
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
