Deputies Respond To Fight Involving Parent And Students At Pontiac High School

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to Pontiac High School on a report of a fight involving two students and a parent.

Around 10 or so officers and a K-9 unit were at the scene late Wednesday morning at the campus on Arlene Ave. It's the only public school in the city of Pontiac.

According to a spokesperson for the district, a parent called 911 and the sheriff's office responded.

Reporting from the scene, WWJ's Laura Bonnell said no one was seriously hurt and no students were arrested — but the parent involved in the fight may have been taken into custody.

WWJ is working to confirm the arrest and get more details. What caused the fight is under investigation.

Meantime, other school officials told Bonnell "nothing happened that doesn't happen at every school across the country."

The school had a half day on Wednesday. As deputies remained on campus after noon, most students were leaving the area.
