2 Wanted After Detroit Family Dollar Clerk Held At Gunpoint [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are looking for tips as they work to identify two men wanted in an armed holdup at a Detroit dollar store.

The crime, on Sunday, Oct. 16, was caught on surveillance video at the Family Dollar in the 12200 block of Grand River on the city's west side.

According to police, two men entered the store at 8:30 a.m.  One of them approached the counter acting as if he was going to pay for some items. Instead, police said, the man pulled a handgun from the waistband of his pants and pointed it at the female clerk, demanding money.

While the second suspect stood by as lookout, the gunman waited — but the clerk wasn't able to open the cash register, according to police. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No one was injured.

Both suspects are described as black males, around 25 years old and 120 lbs. with a slim build. Both of them were wearing black t-shirts.
