Big Buck Brewery's 45-Foot Bottle Already Sold

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Well, that didn't take long ...

Powers Distributing, Michigan's largest distributor of Miller Lite, has purchased the 45-foot beer bottle at the former Big Buck Brewery in Auburn Hills, once visible from I-75.

The bottle was officially promoted as "on sale" Tuesday, removed Wednesday and quickly purchased by Powers.

"Powers Distributing has more than 75 years of experience distributing beer in Oakland and Macomb counties and manages more than 85 brands across the two counties," said Gary Thompson, chief operating officer, Powers Distributing. "The Big Buck beer bottle has been a metro Detroit staple for many years and Powers is proud to restore and preserve the bottle to represent a new generation of legal-age beer drinkers."

They're not saying how much they paid for it or what exactly they plan to do with it.

"Plans to restore the bottle are still under discussion," the company said.
