'Birthday Cake Kicker' Back In Court, Gets Probation For Ice Cream Incident

DETROIT (WWJ) - Telling the court that she is a different person now, a Bloomfield Hills woman gets probation for assaulting an ice cream shop worker.

Tricia Kortes was charged with assault after hitting a Royal Oak ice cream shop worker in 2015 because the store

didn't have the flavor she wanted. Video shows her reaching over the counter and slapping the worker on the head after being told they did not have the ice cream she wanted; Michigan favorite Mackinaw Island Fudge.

"I am a different person now," said Kortes before being given probation on the assault charge.

Kortes is already working through 300 hours of community service for an alleged assault at a Kroger store in Oakland County.

In June, Kortes was captured on cameras at a Kroger store in West Bloomfield, drop kicking a cake because she apparently didn't like the decorations. She was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the cake-kicking incident.
