Mike Valenti: 'Death, Taxes And Caldwell Sucks On Gameday' [VIDEO]

On the Monday after a Michigan/Michigan State rivalry game, Mike Valenti would normally start his show talking about the game.

Not this time: Jim Caldwell's play calling was so egregious it took over the start of the Valenti and Foster show Monday afternoon.

At issue are Caldwell's decisions to onside kick with almost three minutes left in the game and three timeout while trailing by seven. He also chose not to challenge a questionable drop by Texans' WR DeAndre Hopkins that could have been a catch and fumble.

Valenti went off on the coach, "We must start with the Lions, the sizzle is with the Lions and Jim Caldwell. There are certain non-negotiables in life. Death, taxes, etc. Let's use death for a minute."

"All of us are going to die, now, on your way to death you may live a great life, a bad life, a long life, a short life but at some point you will die. That is the completion of the circle. With Jim Caldwell there is a circle of life, there is a non negotiable with Jim Caldwell and it doesn't matter how long you go, how long it takes to complete the circle you are going to end up at the same place. The same place is this, the non negotiable with Jim Caldwell is he is the single worst game manager coach I have ever laid eyes upon at the National Football League level. From clock management, to the manipulation and understanding of the rules to basic strategical calling, Jim Caldwell is atrocious. He's always been atrocious. You can go read the literature of his time in Indianapolis or you can simply sight your own time and exposure to him as a fan here. You may go weeks without seeing it, you may trip into a playoff spot at some point but here's what it will come back to at some point, death, taxes and Caldwell sucks on gameday."

"Whether it was the challenge flag, risk-reward scenario that he couldn't comprehend. Or an indefensible, reprehensible decision to onside kick with your full complement of timeouts, closer to three minutes then not."

"His ineptitude on gameday is the non-negotiable. Death, taxes and him screwing this organization with bad gameday decisions and management."

Can anyone justify the moves that Caldwell made Sunday against the Texans?
