Election Day Forecast: Wet And Gray Tuesday

DETROIT (WWJ) - As you head out to the polls on Tuesday, you might want to grab an umbrella.

CBS 62 Chief Meteorologist Jim Madaus says it might be warm in the metro area, but we'll see spotty showers all day.

"We've got mild temperatures for your Tuesday here in Detroit, climbing into the upper 50s, which is about 10 degrees above normal," he said. "We'll see clouds through the day today and a cold front moving through -- and there could be scattered showers with that front as it moves through."

Temperatures are expected to take a bit of a dive on Wednesday to right around 50 degrees. And on Thursday, Madaus says we'll see the best weather day of the week with a full day of sunshine and temperatures flirting with 60 degrees.

Here's a look at the extended forecast from the CBSDetroit.com weather team:

Tuesday -- Showers this morning, becoming a steady rain during the afternoon hours. High 58F. Low 44F.

Wednesday -- Mostly cloudy with a little bit of sun. High 51F. Low 38F.

Thursday -- Sunny. High 60F. Low 45F.

Friday -- Intervals of clouds and sunshine. High 50F. Low 31F.

Saturday -- Mostly sunny skies. High 48F. Low 35F.
