The Snack Attack: New Little Caesars Deep Dish Pizza Has Pepperoni Wrapped Cheese Stuffed In Crust [TASTE TEST]

Little Caesars is taking another crack at the stuffed crust pizza game -- this time loading a pizza with more than six feet of pepperoni. We're talking about the new 8-corner Pepperoni Stuffed Crust DEEP! DEEP! Dish Pizza.

Little Caesars debuted their first try at the stuffed crust deep dish pizza earlier this year. But that pizza was plain in comparison, featuring plain ol' cheese stuffed in the crust. This time, Little Caesars is getting crazy with the cheese and wrapping it in pepperoni before it is stuffed in the crust.

"If you took all the pepperoni in the crust and topping the pizza and laid it end-to-end, it would be more than six feet of pepperoni," Edward Gleich, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, said in a statement. "Combine that with the more than 3-and-a-half feet stuffed into the crust alone and you have a pizza powerhouse. This indulgent creation is perfect for pizza aficionados who can't get enough of the quintessential pizza flavor combination."

If you want to try this cheesy creation, you better not delay -- it's only around for a limited time. A slight word of warning: although the menu might say this pizza is available Hot-N-Ready from 4 to 8 p.m., be prepared to wait for a fresh one. The person in front of me and the one after me ordered this pizza. Needless to say, the first guy was the only one who didn't have to wait.

Appearance: The pizza features a crunchy crust with caramelized cheese edges and topped with pepperoni and cheese. It's a quintessential Detroit-style pizza -- a rectangular pizza that gets its crispy-crunchy edge and chewy inside texture from baking in a custom metal pan coated with olive oil. And you can definitely tell it is packed with cheese, it's literally 10 times heavier than a regular Hot-N-Ready. When you pull the slices apart, the cheese stuffed into the crust pulls apart until it just can't handle to pressure and breaks apart -- such a satisfying feeling!

Aroma: This pizza has that classic Little Caesars smell with a bit of a twist, in that you can really smell the extra dough that makes it a deep dish.

Taste: If you've never tried the deep dish from Little Caesars, you're seriously missing out. It is SO much better than the regular $5 pizza, it's pretty much on a totally different level.

The crust has the perfect amount of crunch, but the inside was just a little bit chewy for my liking -- the pizza probably could have stayed in the oven for an extra five minutes. The cheese stuffed inside the crust is gooey and melty and definitely tastes different than the cheese topping the pizza. The best way I can describe it is meat-flavored cheese. Some people have been complaining online that their stuffed crust only has pepperoni inside where the slices are cut. That wasn't the case with my pizza, though. I opened up the crust and was delighted to find it was lined with several pepperoni. One major complaint, though, is that as my slice cooled down, the cheese inside the crust didn't stay warm, so it lost the gooey-ness that I love about stuffed crust cheese.

Pros: Cheese, cheese and more cheese! Deep dish pizza fans will be pleasantly pleased.

Cons: If you're a thin crust fanatic, avoid this pizza pie -- you won't be able to handle its goodness.

Rating: I feel like this pizza needs two separate ratings: 1) Compared to a regular Hot-N-Ready, this pizza blows it out of the water -- 9 out of 10. 2) But when compared to pizza as a whole, it goes down a few points -- 7 out of 10.
