DeAndre Levy Returns To Practice For The Lions

Linebacker DeAndre Levy (yes, that DeAndre Levy) returned to practice today for the first time since Week 1.
Levy was injured in the Lions' season-opener versus the Indianapolis Colts and has been sidelined ever since due to knee/quad issues. It appears he could make his return this Sunday when the Lions host the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Levy would give the Lions a serious boost on defense. He was the team's leading tackler in his last full season (2014) and possesses A+ instincts as a linebacker. It's a position at which the Lions have looked vulnerable all season long.
At practice, Levy participated in formation drills with his fellow linebackers and engaged in some light contact. Here he is absorbing a block from Antwione Williams:
Earlier on Wednesday, Jim Caldwell was asked how long it would take Levy to get back into game-shape if he were to return to practice.
"Not certain," Caldwell said. "We'll see whenever he gets there."
Levy got there, of course, and now it's a matter of seeing how he progress over the coming days. At the very least, one has to figure the 29-year-old linebacker is fresh and fully healthy, a luxury at this point in the season.
Along with Levy, cornerback Darius Slay and offensive lineman Riley Reiff returned to practice on Wednesday.
