16-Month-Old Girl Drowns In Auburn Hills Retention Pond

AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) -- A 16-month-old Auburn Hills girl died Sunday after falling into a retention pond.

Auburn Hills police responded to a 911 call on the 300 block of N. Squirrel Road -- just south of M-59 -- where the girl's family pulled her out of the water and attempted to resuscitate her.

She was taken to St. Joseph Mercy hospital in Pontiac, where she was pronounced dead.

An investigation into the incident was conducted and it was determined to be an accident.
