Former 'Survivor' Contestant Enters Plea In Oakland County In Larceny Case

PONTIAC (WWJ/AP) - A former "Survivor" reality show contestant who was convicted of possessing child pornography has entered a plea in an alleged Ponzi scheme.

Michael Skupin pleaded no-contest Monday to larceny by conversion in Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac.

The state attorney general's office says Skupin must repay $30,000 in restitution as part of his plea in the larceny case.

Separately, a jury convicted Skupin Friday on four of six child porn possession counts. Investigators say they found images of underage children in sexual situations when they searched his computer while looking into the investment scheme.

Skupin became a local celebrity after his appearance on "Survivor: Australian Outback" in 2001. He was the first-ever medical evacuation on the series due to severe burns received after passing out into a fire on day 17. He was then brought back in 2012 for the show's 25th season in the Philippines and tied for second place.

Skupin faces sentencing Dec. 27 in both cases.
