Stranger Danger: Man Tries To Sell Girl Marijuana Outside Macomb County Elementary School

FRASER (WWJ) - Parents in one Macomb County community are being warned of possible "stranger danger" after a man tried to sell a girl marijuana on the grounds of an elementary school.

The incident happened Monday afternoon outside of Edison Elementary School, near 14 Mile and Garfield Road in Fraser.

A female student from Richards Middle School, which is located just down the street, told police she was outside of the elementary school when a man approached her and offered to sell her marijuana. The girl ran inside the school and reported what happened.

Police are now searching for the suspect, described as a white male with dark blond hair and a short beard. At the time, he was wearing a white and black hoodie and sweatpants.

In an email to parents, which was obtained by the Macomb Daily, district spokesperson Kristin Ledford said they were proud of the student, who "did the right thing."

"We encourage you to take this opportunity to talk to your child or children about the importance of not talking to strangers and reporting any situation that does not seem right or makes them feel uncomfortable," the email read.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 586-293-1425.
