With over 3,600 people in Michigan in need or an organ transplant, experts and those with personal experience appear on “Michigan Matters” to talk about the issues, concerns and opportunities associated with this most personal issue.
Michael Russell, an organ donor, talks about his decision to donate his kidney to his brother, Cliff Russell.
Betsy Miner-Swartz, communications specialist for Gift of Life Michigan, and Laurie Terreault, widow of a paramedic who donated his organs, appear with Senior Producer/Host Carol Cain to talk about it as well.
And Dan Carney, President/CEO of the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan discusses the importance of kidney health. And he highlights the organization’s upcoming Kidney Ball fundraiser being held on Dec. 3.
