Caught On Video: Bold Thief Makes Off With Taco Bell Donation Jar

WESTLAND (WWJ) - Police are looking for tips from the public in a snatch-and-grab robbery caught on video at a Westland Taco Bell.

Police say, on Saturday, Nov. 26, a man entered the fast food restaurant at 201 S Merriman Rd., simply walked up to the counter, picked up a donation container containing an unknown amount of money and left.

Police say the donation program is sponsored by Taco Bell and involves an essay contest in which college students may receive tuition reimbursement.

The suspect is described a white male in his 60s, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build and light-colored hair, wearing a dark-colored jacket, a blue sweatshirt and light blue jeans.

He was seen fleeing the scene in a red four-door vehicle, possibly a late-model Ford Fusion.
