Lions' LB Whitehead Out; TJ Jones, Armonty Bryant Activated

ALLEN PARK (AP) — The Detroit Lions have ruled out linebacker Tahir Whitehead against the New Orleans Saints.

Whitehead will miss the game Sunday at New Orleans because of a knee injury.

The Lions signed wide receiver TJ Jones from their practice squad, activated Armonty Bryant and released running back Justin Forsett and cornerback Johnthan Banks on Saturday.

Jones may play the Saints if wide receiver Marvin Jones is inactive because of a thigh injury that limited him in practice this week.

Bryant is back with the team after serving a three-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on substances of abuse. He signed with the Lions after being cut by the Cleveland Browns following a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
