Son Charged In Beating Death Of His Mother

DETROIT (WWJ) - Prosecutors have charged a 36-year-old man in connection with the death of his mother in Detroit.

Police say Raymond Mealy beat his 64-year-old mother to death in their home on Bramell street on Friday just before 1 p.m.

A relative came to the house and discovered the her body and called police.

Mealy was arrested at the scene and was arraigned Monday.

He'll be back in court for a probable cause conference on April 6.
