Monroe County Man Killed When Mobile Home Explodes

(WWJ) A Monroe County man was killed last night after an explosion and fire in his mobile home.

First responders were able to rescue a 63-year-old woman from the couple's trailer at Northtowne Meadows Mobile Home Community near the Ohio state line.

But her 73-year-old husband was trapped inside.

Firefighters found his body in the living room.

While the cause is under investigation, witnesses say they heard loud explosions from the home equipped with oxygen tanks.
