13-Year-Old Ida Girl Dies After Running In Track Meet

IDA TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A middle school girl has died after becoming ill during a track meet in Lenawee County.

Jasmin Torres, 13, of Ida, died Tuesday night at an Adrian Hospital.

School officials say the Ida Middle School student began to feel sick after running the 400-meter dash.

An athletic trainer and a physician immediately began checking on Torres, but her condition worsened and an ambulance took her to the hospital.

Her cause of death has not been determined.
