Motorcyclist Killed In Overnight Crash On I-75

BROWNSTOWN TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities say a 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike crashed on I-75 Downriver.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. Thursday on southbound I-75 underneath the King Road overpass, just south of the Dix-Toledo exit in Brownstown Township.

The motorcyclist, a Garden City man, went down under the overpass, but police say it's unclear if any other vehicles were involved in the initial crash. After being thrown from his bike, the man was struck numerous times by multiple other motorists.

The other drivers involved stopped at the scene and were questioned by police. No other injuries were reported.

The motorcyclist's name has not been released.

The southbound lanes of I-75 were closed from Dix-Toledo to West Road for several hours as police investigated the scene, but have since reopened to traffic.

The crash remains under investigation.
