Driver Tries To Avoid Collision, Fatally Strikes Pedestrian

MILAN, Mich. (WWJ) - A man was struck and killed while in the middle of a Washtenaw County road.

Police say the a car tried to swerve around him, but still struck the man near the corner of Saline-Milan and Stony Creek roads Wednesday afternoon.

The driver stopped at the scene and was questioned by police.

No other injuries were reported.

Investigators are now trying to determine why the man was on the road at the time.

The victim's identity has not been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
