Alan Korn is Director of Advanced Brake Systems Integration for Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems. In this position, he is responsible for advanced vehicle dynamics engineering and government affairs. The products within his scope of control include antilock braking systems, stability control and driver assistance systems including collision mitigation, lane departure warning and data analytics.
Alan’s professional background within the automotive and commercial vehicle industry spans three decades. His experience has focused on foundation brakes and brake control systems. He started his career in 1978 as a Project Engineer at Kelsey Hayes Company and then moved to Lucas Girling prior to coming to Rockwell International as an Engineering Supervisor in 1985. When Rockwell International established the joint venture Rockwell WABCO (now Meritor WABCO) in 1990, Alan assumed the position of Engineering Manager in the new organization. In 1997, he was promoted to Chief Engineer and in 2006, Alan assumed management responsibility for the Vehicle Dynamics and Control business segment within Meritor WABCO.
Alan is active in the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Heavy Duty Brake Manufacturers Council, Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. He holds a BSME degree from Lawrence Technological University.
