Brewery Terra Firma is Traverse City’s first farm-to-mug brewery.
“These events are fashioned for the sole purpose of craft beer appreciation, consumer education, and experiential learning in the breweries, brewpubs, restaurants and retail locations of Traverse City.”
“Once we have a successful event like this we are more likely to win bids on other USFS events. It will also impact our non-qualifying competitive event (Cherry Classic) quite a bit.”
It’s a wonderful season for a shopping adventure, a round of championship golf, or a tour of the beautiful Grand Traverse Bay wine country.
After all, the park encompasses 64 miles of Lake Michigan coastline, two islands, 26 inland lakes and more than 71,000 acres of land about a half hour’s drive west of the resort town of Traverse City.
The festival – timed to coincide with World Astronomy Week — will feature two days of activities, films and talks – including a keynote address by Dr. Alex Filippenko, Professor of Astronomy at the University of California-Berkeley.
“Experiential travel is growing in popularity, so why not incorporate a volunteerism experience?” he said.
The three-day festival will include workshops, demonstrations, appearances by local chefs and culinary celebrities, and tastes and sips of the best dishes and libations from area restaurants, caterers, wineries, breweries and other food producers.
Clinch Park is the first project tackled from the City’s 2010 Bayfront Plan, a series of recommended improvements along the shoreline.
