Dr. Betty Chu
Dr. Betty Chu attended the University of Michigan Integrated Premed/Medical Program and graduated in 1995. She completed her residency at Beaumont in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1999 and became board certified in 2001. She has spent the last 13 years in private practice at both Royal Oak and Troy Beaumont hospitals. While on the attending staff, she has served on the OB Quality & Safety Committee, the OB Clinical Council and was elected Member at Large in 2008. In December 2009, she was elected Medical Staff President at Beaumont, Troy and serves on the Beaumont Health System board of directors. Dr. Chu was also selected as one of Crain’s Detroit Business 40 under 40 recipients in the fall of 2010.
Dr. Chu has also served in numerous local, state and national leadership roles including junior fellow chair of the Michigan Section of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, president of the Oakland County Medical Society, chair of the Michigan State Medical Society State Legislation and Regulation Committee, and alternate delegate to the American Medical Association. She currently services on the board of the Michigan State Medical Society.
In August 2011, Dr. Chu was accepted into the Executive MBA Program at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and will complete the program in April 2013.
