CBS 62′s First Forecast at 11 provides a complete weather almanac and forecast each night following the top rated CBS prime time lineup. Once the two-and-a-half minute forecast is complete Monday through Friday, CBS 62 will begin its popular syndicated program “Two and a Half Men” which will be followed by “Late Night with David Letterman” at 11:35 p.m.
On Saturday and Sundays, “First Forecast” is followed by CBS prime programming. Check the current local TV schedule.
The host of First Forecast at 11 is Chief Meteorologist Jim Madaus.
“Everyone knows weather in our area is important and we aim to make it easy, efficient and convenient. First Forecast allows CBS 62 to deliver a brief, yet complete look at our local weather delivered by a well-known local broadcaster,” said Trey Fabacher, vice president and general manager of CBS 62. “The weather reports will be sandwiched between our highly rated CBS prime and great syndication at 11 p.m.”

Jim Madaus has earned the confidence of local television viewers and radio listeners for the last 23 years and is one of Detroit’s most trusted meteorologists. He previously worked as Chief Meteorologist at CBS owned CBS 62, and WKBD-TV, as well as WXYZ-TV where he started in 1984. Jim is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has the AMS Seal of Approval for television.
Jim has received numerous awards, including the Silver Circle Award from the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He was voted the Best Unsung Weathercaster in Detroit by the Detroit Free Press. Also, he is a recipient of the Best Weathercast in Detroit Award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, and has been an integral part of many Emmy winning and award winning newscasts in Detroit.
