I was duped by a company representing Directv and now have to pay a cancel fee of $480.00. Can you help me?

I agreed to a 2 year contract with DIRECTV to provide phone, TV and internet service for 2 years. I was quoted the $87.00 plus tax for the 3 services. Not until I received my first bill did I realize the real cost is $167.08. I have canceled and they are charging me $480.00 cancel fee. Help.

  1. Hey Arthur, I worked for about 5 and a half years for D.-TV. and their subsidiary Spin. (Provides services for Detroit proper). I would strongly suggest you look into an alternative provider such as Spin, which covers lots of the burbs, and simply transfer your account to them. They have a combo (had at least 3 months ago) service package for 79.99 for the first three years. This includes HBO channels for a couples months too. If you transfer instead of cancel your service you won’t pay the cancellation fee.
Anyway check out their website @ http://www.MeAtSpin.com
